Today 10th January 2017 we celebrate Bro. George Tyler pm's 70 years in the craft. Brother George who is 92 was initiated into Lodge Kirknewton & Ratho No.85 on 10th January 1947 He was RWM of LK&R 85 in 1965-67 He was in 1970 a Founder member of The Lodge of Light 1656 And in their 25th silver jubilee year (1995) He became RWM for the year He is an Honorary Member of five lodges: St Clair 349 Caledonian Lodge 392 Kirkliston Maitland 482 Abbotsford 937 and Royal Thistle The Royal Scots 1338. Bro. George received a Jubillee Certificate in 1997 from LK&R
Bro. George is very well respected and admired and spends his days receiving visitors at North Merchiston Care Home where he now stays. He fondly tells tales from when he played the organ at ALL the Lodges he is a member of, not forgetting the one where he set LK&R's organ on fire, circa 2012.

Bro. George received a Distinguished Service diploma on 14th March 2008 from LK&R He received a Certificate with other living masons who were all in the chair in 1965, 50 yrs ago, during Polkemmet installation 19/12/2005. He is the only Mason living who sports 3 centenary Jewels from our (LK&R 85) 200th in 1961, our 225th in 1986 and our 250th in 2011
