Reply to the office bearers and brethren of the lodge

To give a reply on an occasion like this
is my pleasure and it would be remiss,
If I were to not mention in this narration
my very recent affiliation

Like the brethren of this fine lodge
who sit in the columns to watch,
The office bearers who impart information
in the form of ritual dissertation

There's old and new and some in between
who dress in black and are so pristine,
Who tread the carpet in a square like fashion
and show our candidates their compassion

Into this mix I have been allowed
and no brother ever was so proud,
I'll need to mind not to get tongue tied
and remember to drop 'tis I, 'tis I

Our lodge is small but fine and dandy
we rely on bar staff Merv and Andy,
And others too who've taken office
and add to our harmonious chorus

There's Davy Watt who makes no fuss
with jokes at harmony board for us,
And Bob Nicol who's no dupe
and of course his wife's most famous soup

We've past masters a plenty
may they stay fare and hearty,
And of course our young team
have no doubt they'll be supreme

Our office bearers will all connect
in front of Provincial master elect,
The brethren of this lodge take heart
you too must play your part

To come along as often as can be
to each and every single degree,
To sit and support quietly in the wings
and help sometimes tie apron strings

We pledge our support to our new master
who takes over the reins from Brother McMaster
He's been there before but have no fear
he'll do us proud in our Centenary year

Our hopes for the future we'll keep alive
In this our lodge, Kirknewton & Ratho
